(FILLED) Fun and Active After-School Family Assistant Needed for Two Sporty, School-Aged Boys in Fairport, NY!

Ages of Children: 13 and 11 

Start Date: ASAP

Schedule: 16-20 hours guaranteed weekly. The typical schedule will fall between the hours of 2:30pm-6:30pm, M-Th.

Compensation: $22-28+/h

A busy professional family in Fairport, NY is looking for a responsible, proactive and friendly, after-school family assistant to help support their 13-year-old and 11-year-old sons! The ideal candidate will be reliable, flexible, and able to take initiative with minimum directive. The position guarantees 16-20 hrs per week, though the amount worked per week may be less, with occasional days off while still receiving guaranteed pay. The weekly schedule is primarily set in advance, with occasional last minute changes, all of which will fall within the set schedule and guaranteed hours. While the family will continue to guarantee 16-20 hours per week, a candidate with some flexibility in their schedule during the summer months will be appreciated. 

Responsibilities will include picking up the children from school, driving them to and from extracurricular activities like sports practice, tutoring, and appointments, as well as helping them transition from school to home. The ideal candidate will be able to engage with the children in a friendly and meaningful way, whether it's striking up a conversation with the 13-year-old or keeping the 11-year-old entertained. A candidate with an interest in sports would be a bonus for these two, sporty kids! Light dishes and tidying up, encouraging the children to tidy up after themselves, and generally leaving the house in good condition before departing at the end of the day will be asked and appreciated.  Additional duties will include running errands, grocery shopping, and providing light care for the family’s chocolate labradoodle. A clean driving record and safe driving habits are essential for the role.

Requirements:

2+ years of professional childcare experience

CPR/First aid certified

Safe and reliable vehicle

Clean driving record

Willingness to make a long-term commitment to the family
