In order to provide the most trustworthy, top quality care to the families we work with, we follow a trusted hiring process to grow our team of professionals. We value the candidates we work with and strongly believe in advocating for our nannies, sharing resources with our clients about industry standards and best practices, and provide a support system that ensures ensure a long-lasting, meaningful match. In-Depth Application

Candidates apply via our in-depth application. Applicants who possess the relevant experience and professionalism are invited to a preliminary interview with our team.

Preliminary Interview

Each candidate will undergo a preliminary interview with a member of our team. We will assess professionalism, knowledge of childhood development, as well as discuss your background and experience.

Reference Checks 

If selected to continue, we require each candidate to provide us with a minimum of three professional references. We reach out to each reference personally to discuss their experience with the candidate.

Background Checks & Additional Screening 

Before a candidate is placed with one of our amazing families, we perform a series of background checks, motor vehicle record checks, social media screen, and employment verification.

Perks & Resources

  • At Flower City Nannies, we advocate hard for our nannies. We require our client families to provide some or all of the following benefits: guaranteed hours, paid time off, paid holidays, sick & personal days, annual bonuses, and health insurance or health insurance stipend (optional).

    Guaranteed hours means that you can count on a steady paycheck every week of the year. We ensure that families understand this benefit, and that even if the family goes on vacation, lets you leave early, or doesn’t need you for any other reason, you’ll be paid for your full hours, no ifs ands or buts.

  • We advise our clients on current market rates and fair compensation for the required duties of each position. We believe that nannies and caregivers should be treated as professionals in their field, and every Flower City Nannies position comes with legal pay via payroll.

  • Gone are the days of miscommunication around time off, duties, or benefits. Each placement comes with a signed and dated (by all parties) work agreement that includes all pertinent information. The agreement includes job details such as rate, schedule, benefits, and duties, so that your relationship is one of clarity and confidence.

Minimum Requirements

  • A minimum of 2+ years of professional childcare experience

    First aid and CPR certified (or willing to become certified)

    At least 3 outstanding, verifiable, professional references

    Legal to work in the United States

    Clean driving record

    Professionalism in all communications

    A positive, professional attitude

    A genuine love and passion for supporting families
