A warm and welcoming family in Skaneateles, NY, is seeking a high-energy, attentive, and experienced nanny to provide part-time care for their joyful and loving 3.5-year-old son, who is on the autism spectrum. He is a sweet and well-behaved child who is not yet verbal, so the family is looking for a nanny with special needs experience—someone who understands non-verbal communication cues and can create a nurturing, supportive environment. The family’s older child attends school full-time, but care for both children will be appreciated during school breaks and summer.
The family’s ideal nanny is patient, engaging, and energetic, and has experience working in special education, speech or occupational therapy services, or working with neurodivergent children in a professional setting. Responsibilities will include supporting their son’s daily routine, engaging in sensory play and developmentally appropriate activities, and ensuring a safe, stimulating, and structured environment. Initially, care will take place primarily in the home, with the possibility of local outings to the park or library once trust and comfort have been established with the family.
In addition to childcare, the nanny will assist with light household tasks such as meal prep, child-related tidying, and laundry. The family values collaboration and will provide guidance to make daily routines seamless—Mom will often be available in the mornings for a quick check-in to outline the day's schedule.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and experienced nanny looking for a long-term position with a loving family who values thoughtful, personalized care. If you have a passion for working with neurodivergent children and are looking for a supportive and rewarding role, we encourage you to apply!
